Amitis beach

Amitis is 7 Km north of the capital (Naxos Town or Hora) of Naxos Island. It is a beach with fine sand without any tourism infrastructure. Amitis beach can be accessed via either Galini Village (the southern part of Amitis) or Eggares Village (the north part of Amitis). After leaving Eggares there are 2 signposts to Amitis. The first one is 1.5 Km after Eggares and before the artificial pond and the second is 2.7 Km after Eggares and after passing the pond. Both routes lead to the same part of the beach.

Amitis is protected from south winds, thus the beach is ideal when wind blows from south. The beach is wavy during north winds. Nearest villages to Amitis are Galini and Eggares.
